17 June 957 and vintage carriages at Oxehope 04 June 2007 in readiness for scenes for a major new film production of Brideshead Revisited added to Gallery - click here.  are to be shot at Oakworth station. The film is being produced by Ecosse Films and stars Michael Gambon and Emma Thompson. The production will be released in the UK by Buena Vista International.

As steam engines need lots of aqua the whole lot (cast included, in period costume and thoroughly enjoying the trip in a first class compartment) came to Oxenhope for a much needed top-up.  The engine had left Haworth shed at 07:00 with a full tank but used it all by lunchtime!

05 May Club Coach 47 Update: All fixed windows are now in place.  Along with the already completed top lights this leaves just the two main door droplights outstanding for completion of the re-glazing.  Click here for latest photo.

21 Apr Due to changes to Gift Aid as a result of the latest budget, a As from April 2008 we can get an extra 25p for every pound donated via Gift Aid (currently 28p).

05 Mar First of eighteen main windows fitted to club coach today, secured by some of the few bolections (architectural mouldings) that were rescued from the original body.
February 2007  
26 Feb All 40 top window felts and opening lights now fitted to 47, and all the window frames french polished.  Glass for the main windows has been delivered and will be fitted when we've obtained to exterior bolections (architectural mouldings).

The bookstall raised circa £460 last weekend - thanks for your support!

14 Feb In conjunction with the steam gala weekend, we shall be running a bookstall in the Exhibition shed at Oxenhope to raise funds for carriage and locomotive restoration.

The bookstall will be open from 10.00 am each day with several hundred volumes from 50p upwards available for purchase - your help would be very much appreciated.  We look forward to seeing you.

28 Jun As 1507 will be on the vintage trains on 2nd July, it will be 100 years since fare paying passengers last rode in 1507 (grounded body approx 1906). 
16 Jun 1507 and 1474 (plus some others from minor railways) will be on the vintage trains of 2nd July - pulled by 957.

957 will provide the relief service on the summer timetable (KWVR purple phase!) - this will be normal (relatively modern) stock.

Just two more vintage Sundays, one of which is above, then in August.

31 May 957 passed its annual boiler test today and is rostered for KWVR vintage trains this Sunday (4th June)
24 May Topic: 1474 luggage rack brackets

This coach had been stripped internally when it was an engineers' mess van.  To complete the restoration we need L&Y pattern luggage rack brackets.  Does anyone have an original (from around 1910 - the build date) or a drawing from that period?  Please contact us.

04 May 1474 roof painting in progress - top and all of eastern side completed, just waiting for coach to be put onto other road for completion of western side.

L&Y AGM at VCT, Ingrow this Saturday at 11:45

Work on the boiler for 752 progresses rapidly - the foundation ring has been machined to size; forming tools have been made for the new backhead, firebox endplate and firedoor opening; the firebox outer wrapper, endplates, girders and sideplates have been manufactured. Hopefully we'll have some images soon.
