Membership

The Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Preservation Society (LYRPS) welcomes new members.  The Society's main purpose is to act as a fundraising body for the Trust in the form of membership subscriptions and voluntary donations.

The LYRPS is an 'unincorporated body' and cannot claim Gift Aid or most grant aid (such as the Heritage Lottery Fund), which the Trust can. Since Gift Aid changed in 2001 most LYRPS members have added donations to their membership subscriptions with an instruction for them to be transferred to the Trust, enabling the Trust to claim Gift Aid on the donation. Click here for more information on Gift Aid.
