LYR Sink Refurbishment
The images below show an LYR sink refurbishment destined for 47.  Our sincere thanks to Pennine Signs of Mytholmroyd for assistance with the border for the original logo.

First Class Doors
Yet another turn up.  A pair of doors from a first class corridor coach (we think).  These can be repaired, adapted slightly, and French polished for use
as doors for the WC and Lavatory in the 47 Club Coach.  Images show original state and just how well they'll look when fully polished - click image to view.

   Carpet and Blind
Two artefacts have surfaced from original L&Y days - a carpet and blind.  The carpet we think is from a first class compartment of a corridor coach as it's 6ft 9in long and 2ft 9in wide.  How the crest has survived we cannot imagine!  The carpet approximate age is late 19th - early 20th century.  The blind is fascinating as it is wholly reversible - one side has the pattern as brown on gold whilst the other is gold on brown, plus the central motif shows LYR whichever way up it is held.  The blind doesn't fit 47 but may 279.  Click image to view.

Club Car Chairs
A chair frame manufacturer and upholsterer have been identified, and a single replacement chair completed as shown alongside - the upholstery is real leather!  With an order of 40, it is expected that the price per chair will be around £500.
In view of the amounts involved, the replacement will not go ahead until sufficient funding is available, and to this end it has been decided to administer the project funding through a separate registered charity, the Keighley and Worth Valley Trust.  This is through their established 'L&Y Club Car Fund' from which grants have already been made towards restoration.
To donate towards the chairs, please complete the special Donation Form and (if appropriate) Gift Aid Declaration and send with your donation to the address shown - not the L&YR Trust please.  Gift Aid will be reclaimed by the other Trust without any further action by you.
There have already been expressions of interest in the individual sponsorship of chairs, if interested please contact us for more information.  By post to Robin Higgins, The Treasurer, L&Y Railway Trust, 19 Sycamore Way, Barnoldswick  BB18 5RA or by e-mail.

Trust Special Events
The Trust participates in many events to further its aims to provide public access and education.  Whilst some of these are privately organised 'charters' for photographers, the majority are accessible to the public and will be advertised here in due course - please keep checking back!

Bookstall - A bookstall was held during the Steam Gala weekend in February 2007.  Many thanks to all those who supported the event.  The image shows Robin Higgins and Eric Rawcliffe hard at work.
